‘I Still Believe (You'll Come Back to Me)’ is my interpretation of song by my friend Saul Stern. The song resonated with me, and the road I travel as I get older, so I added some extra lyrics and observations of my life in there too
For this particular track I wanted to do a full on Joe Cocker / Phil Spector-esque 'Wall of Sound' style of production

Arranged by my good friend, Grammy Award winning Danny Flam (Elton John, Jay Z, Kanye West etc), who also brought along his ‘New York Brass’ section which included Mike McGovern. Mike was renowned as Buddy Rich's favourite trumpet player and who sadly passed away in 2017
Also included is Cenovia Cummins’ String Ensemble; Cenovia has worked with Aerosmith, Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart through to Paul McCartney and provided just the orchestration this song needed
This session includes guitar by Joe Cocker’s guitarist, Keith Mack, and Tom Welsch, both of whom play with Patty Smyth (Don Henley/The Eagles) and her band 'Scandal'
The late Benjy King (again from Patty Smyth‘s 'Scandal’ as well as keyboard maestro for Rick Derringer) had played on an initial version of the song that we had recorded during my 'Moon Over Indigo' album sessions so I added his keyboards from that earlier session to this song to acknowledge him, his talent and contribution. A fabulous musician who played on a good number of my tracks and who is sadly missed
Kareña K added her cinematic Backing Vocal Arrangements and two other members of 'The Mescal Canyon Troubadours', Max Saidi & Tommy Rhodes, added Drums and Bass. Max and Tommy are very active on the UK music scene working with everyone from Peter André through to James Kirkby and many more…
